The beef is taken from our grass fed herd of Longhorns, a rare breed native to the rolling Leicestershire hills originally bred by agricultural pioneer Robert Bakewell less than 2 miles from the farm for their exception quality of beef. They are the oldest pedigree breed in the world and win many blind steak eating contests! Due to the popularity of our beef, there is a waiting list for a few of the items. Please get in touch if you are after something that we are not showing in the shop,

Lamb is taken from our flock of pedigree LLeyn and Polled Dorset sheep. Our organically grown grass and clover pastures mean they produce delicious succulent lamb.

Pork is the only meat we do not raise ourselves as we just don’t have the space! It is sourced as locally as possible and is raised to the same incredibly high quality and welfare standards that we use ourselves as well as being Soil Association approved.

We rear our own chickens but we also support a neighbouring organic farm. Our chickens are incredibly free range some can be found roaming freely around the farm.

Local fallow deer venison during season (Oct – April) is taken from a local deer park in Castle Donington which is SSSI (Sight of Special Scientist Interest).

Local free range game birds from Home Farm in Nanpantan are also available during season (Oct- January).

Home reared organic bronze turkeys are available over the Christmas period. These are incredibly popular are usually sell out long before Christmas so please order early to avoid disappointment.
